Crane is a type of lifting machinery that performs cyclic and intermittent movements. A work cycle includes: the retrieval device lifts the item from the retrieval site, then moves horizontally to the designated location to lower the item, and then performs reverse motion to return the retrieval device to its original position for the next cycle.
Usually, lifting machinery is composed of a lifting mechanism (to move objects up and down), a running mechanism (to move the lifting machinery), a variable amplitude mechanism, and a slewing mechanism (to move objects horizontally), as well as a metal mechanism, power device, control and necessary auxiliary devices.
Classification of Mobile Cranes:
1. Car crane. Installing the crane on the chassis of a general or specialized vehicle with a low plate performance equivalent to that of a heavy-duty vehicle with the same total weight meets the technical requirements of road vehicles, and can therefore travel unobstructed on various roads. This type of crane is generally equipped with two control rooms for getting on and off the vehicle, and the support legs must be extended to maintain stability during operation. The range of lifting capacity is very large, ranging from 8 tons to 1000 tons, and the number of axles on the chassis can range from 2 to 10. It is the most productive and widely used type of crane.
2. Tire crane. The lifting part is a crane installed on a specially designed inflatable tire chassis. Using the same engine for boarding and disembarking, the driving speed generally does not exceed 30KM/H, and the vehicle width is also wide, so it is not suitable for long-distance driving on highways. It has the function of lifting and traveling without legs, and is suitable for lifting operations in places with limited movement distance such as freight yards, docks, and construction sites.
3. Off road tire crane. It is a type of crane developed in the 1970s, which has a lifting function similar to that of a tire crane and can also be used for lifting and traveling without legs. The difference lies in the structural form of the chassis and the improvement in driving performance brought about by the unique chassis structure. The engine of this crane is installed on the chassis, which has two axles and four large-diameter off-road tread tires. All four wheels are drive wheels and steering wheels. When transferring workstations on muddy and uneven construction sites, all four wheels transmit power, that is, four-wheel drive, to improve the ability to pass through muddy and uneven roads. When driving at high speeds on flat roads, only the two wheels of the front or rear axle are used to drive, in order to reduce energy consumption. In the random file of the crane, 4 × 4 represents four-wheel drive, and 4 × 2 represents that two of the four axles are drive wheels. This model is suitable for working in narrow spaces. It can achieve continuous infinitely variable speed, and the engine will not stall even in the case of sudden changes in road resistance, which greatly facilitates the driver's operation. The off-road tire crane is a powerful and flexible tire crane with expanded performance.
4. All ground crane. It is a high-performance product that combines the characteristics of both automobile cranes and off-road cranes. It can not only quickly transfer and travel long distances like a car crane, but also meet the requirements of working on narrow, rugged or muddy terrain, with fast driving speed, multi axle drive, all wheel steering, three steering modes, large ground clearance, high climbing ability, and no need for leg lifting and other functions. It is a product with great development prospects. But the price is relatively high, and there are high requirements for the level of use and maintenance.
5. Special crane. A specialized crane developed to accomplish a specific task. For example, lifting wheel rescue vehicles installed on off-road vehicles or armored vehicles for tactical and technical support of mechanized troops; Road clearing vehicles used for handling traffic accidents belong to this category.
